Since 1999, the DAV has relied on the patriotic support of some of motorsports’
greatest legends. What began with a public service announcement and hospital visits
by Ford Motor Company driver Dale Jarrett has continued and evolved. Relationships
with Kenny Wallace, Ashton Lewis, Jr., John Andretti and other NASCAR drivers have
helped the DAV spread its message of hope to veterans and the public.
Most recently, American Le Mans driver and Marine veteran Jason Carter has teamed
up with the DAV to assist his “Racing For Our Heroes” program.
The program provides recovery and rehabilitation opportunities for recently disabled
combat veterans by helping them experience the excitement of racing.
